The Archfornicator of Canterbury FAQ
Frequently and not so frequently asked questions about The Archfornicator of Canterbury…
What is The Archfornicator of Canterbury?
It’s a novel I wrote in November 2006 as my NaNoWriMo entry.
What’s it about?
The overarching theme is Man’s existential struggle between conflicting interests and moral choices. There’s also a fair bit of stuff that would require a lot of digital effects and pyrotechnics in the surely inevitable movie version.
Here’s what the back cover says:
Jack Back has had better days. The CIA is looking to terminate his employment contract with extreme prejudice. He’s stuck in a foreign country with nothing but stones in his pockets. The local cops want to put him in jail and throw away the key. The food is awful and the beer even more so. Just about the only thing that could possibly make Jack’s day any worse would be an alien invasion. Luckily for him, that’s rather unlikely to happen… right?
But don’t take my word for it – read it!
How long is it?
The first draft was 50005 words, five over the NaNoWriMo goal. There are 94 chapters. The (slightly revised) paperback version is 188 pages long.
Where can I buy a copy?
The book is available (NOTE: new revision in the works, not available at the moment!) at Lulu in paperback and PDF.
If you’re in Australia, paperback copies are available directly from the author! Signed copies are $18, unsigned copies are $19, postage not included. Just send me an email at
