David Cronenberg's Spider is a puzzling peek inside a disturbed psyche. The movie is very languidly paced and does not have the traditional buildup-climax-epilogue arc, in fact very little happens in the movie even though the viewer does learn this and that about the antihero after whom the movie is named. A work of art that rewards the viewer's concentration and open-mindedness, or a confusing experiment that failed? In any case, Miranda Richardson was extremely convincing in her triple (!) role. Now, there's an actor.
